Privately commissioned model of only 320 pieces

• 1:76 model of the Volvo Olympian / Alexander double deck bus with unique Dublin Bus body style and details.

DUBLIN BUS ordered 640 Olympians from 1990 to 1999, RH1 to RH175 were Leyland, these were delivered from 1990 to 1993 and were sold to private operators on the 2nd hand market when inky 11 years old. 
RA 175 to RA 325 were Volvo, and finally, the model with the Volvo badge had a Cummins engine and were RV 326 to 640.  314 RV vehicles operated for Dublin Bus and were loved by drivers as they had a tight turning circle and were nippy. The RV models saw further service after their life expired with Dublin Bus in San Francisco, one in Sydney, some travelled to places full of aid in war torn areas, many work to this day in the UK on school contract work and tours, and one even ran in the Queen's 70th pageant of transport through the eras with an RV in a silver wrap representing the 2000s era! Some became glamping vehicles, open top tour buses, and even shops. Most were converted to one door format as is the model and special care and attention was taken to up the seating capacity for school contracts.
The extra seating is captured on these models. 
These Volvo Olympians, with their distinctive Volvo grills, Were sold via Ensignbus, who not only painted some of them in silver & red, and silver & blue liveries to use on their own routes, also sold many on to UK Independent operators who adopted the plain white livery and just attached fleetnames, which this model really lends its values too. 
These single door conversions went all over the UK to new operators, including operators such as Kimes, Go Coach, Helms, TM Travel, Swanbrook, Sleafordian, Sephensons, Happy Als, Motts, Sharpes, Isle of Man, Central buses, Reays and many many more, with some already making it to preservation.
