Hornby are proud to present a new OO Gauge Class 755/4 model is joining the range this Autumn, in a special ‘Poppy’ livery dedicated to fallen veterans in armed conflicts, and to the active service members of this country.

This beautifully decorated model uses accurate colours, fonts and logos supplied by Greater Anglia, and comes with a comprehensive lighting suite that is fully functional when using a DCC system. Featuring a wealth of intricate details, such as separately applied roof equipment , crisp bogie mouldings, and accurate interior seat units, this modern bi-mode passenger train would be the perfect addition to any modern image layout.

In conjunction with the release of this model, Hornby Hobbies will make a one-time donation to the Royal Legion Poppy Appeal this Remembrance Day.

  • Highly detailed OO gauge model developed with support from Stadler and Greater Anglia who gave full access to their CAD information
  • Highly detailed cab with fully decorated instrument panels
  • Powered with two 5-pole skew-wound motors fitted with flywheels for smooth operation
  • All wheel electrical pick-up
  • Brass axle bearings
  • High fidelity detail on both the underside and roof areas with an array of separately fitted parts including metal grills and photo-etched parts
  • Front and rear working kinematic Scharfenberg coupler
  • Poseable pantographs

Electronics:

  • 21-pin decoder socket compatible with HM7000 system
  • Pre-fitted sugar-cube speakers
  • Compatible with the HM7000 Enhanced Bass speaker for realistic engine sounds
  • Illuminated interior and destination boards with power backup using supercapacitors for consistent lighting over track dead spots
  • Illuminated headlights, door opening lights, and cab lighting. Some functionality will only work on a DCC system.

History:

The Class 755 bi-mode multiple unit trains are built by Stadler Rail for Greater Anglia and are part of the highly configurable FLIRT modular train family, designed for greater capacity and long-distance comfort.

The Class 755 entered service on the 29th July 2019, having been delivered to Greater Anglia the previous November.

Greater Anglia announced and launched the 'Lest We Forget' poppy train livery on October 31, 2024.
